Thanks for your help. First of all, the not firing may be the result of the revolver being dry fired(a big rimfire NO-NO.this,dry fire. Mine doesn't have a model number on it at all, just a serial number and 'Sportsman' on the barrel. RJ on this forum said he thought it was an early model 999. It is close but the hammer has the firing pin made into it, and the grip is shaped different.
