Install Windows 3.11 Virtual Pc
Just for fun. I downloaded windows 3.11 and virtual pc 2007 from my MSDN subscription. I've never actually installed this before. A few ideas come to mind Create. In order to make proper use of the Networking Layer under Windows 3.11, it is recommedned that you first install the MS-DOS Virtual.
I am unable to install Windows 3.11 on my Hyper-V Server. Installation gets up to the Windows Setup screen the i cannot input anything. Mouse and keyboard stops working I have done a bunch of research all off them saying to use VMWare or Virtual PC but none with a resolution for Hyper-V. So i am coming to the source for help. I know this is not a high priority but it will be nice to have for educational purpose.
If it does not install in HYPER-V then the software (hyper-v) does not support Windows 3.1.1. Try using the free virtualbox. I had the same problem with Windows VPC 2010, MS VPC 2007:( P.S. If you have vbox then you can get the sound out by installing the Sound Blaster 16 driver(sndblast.drv) using control.exe!:>) Or it could be due to a bad installation disk, try finding one in winworldpc.com! P.P.S You can also use scaled mode in vbox for the vm to fit into the screen! VMware does not work that well! Vbox always works for me:>)!
P.P.S Try using ms-dos 6.22 if you are on 7.1 P.P.P.S Remember to use vbox 4.1.x 5.x and the sound is to small!
