Troubleshooting Honeywell Truesteam Humidifier
Hi, everybody. I have a Honeywell TrueSteam HM512 with water overflow problems. The unit is 7 years old and has always been unreliable (I could tell you stories.). The problem right now is water leaking out from just below the tank gasket.
The gasket is pretty beat up (heat damage), but I don't think that's the issue and I have a replacement on order anyway. Synthesia Keygen there. I'm getting chattering from something - perhaps the solenoid valve, or the differential pressure switch? - while the water is leaking. The tank and the cavity into which the water level sensors are placed are very clean. (This is on older model with the water level sensors in a plastic cavity with a bottom having two holes in it; more modern units have no bottom at all and are open to the main tank). The sensors are fairly new and show no heat damage or cracking (a common problem), and have been cleaned carefully. So my guess is a solenoid issue, though it could be the electronics which drive it, which would be very bad.

Anybody seen this before? BTW, I'm not in the trade, but I am an engineer. And I like fixing things.
But this unit would tax a pro. Maybe beenthere has an idea. Well, Yuri, I had a bypass unit on a previous furnace. I suspect the amount of bypass was too high, because it 'spat' water and eventually corroded away the whole furnace!
I later used an AprilAire fan-powered system which was messy but worked. Sorry, beenthere, I had heard from other posts that you knew a lot about TrueSteams. It mounts in the return(not a real easy one to install), or the supply. Best to return mount it, so no worry of ever over flowing on to the furnace. Once a year(beginning of heating season) pull the humidifier, clean it out, replace anode.
